The dedication and commitment of our volunteers means we can provide a diverse schedule of events across our Chapters Australia-wide.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our organisation, on the ground making the magic happen at our events. They bring unique skills, experiences and perspectives to our community, making it stronger and more vibrant. Our volunteers come from all walks of live and are united by a common purpose: to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Event Leaders

WHAT DO OUR EVENT LEADERS DO?

Our amazing volunteer Event Leaders are the lifeblood of our organisation, bringing the energy and enthusiasm to our fitness, social, and volunteering events. As an Event Leader, you’ll get to be our representative, get the chance to meet and greet our members, take awesome photos, and capture all the excitement of our events.

But wait, there's more! Our events are as diverse as our members, ranging from relaxing bushwalks, coffee catch-ups, and yoga sessions, to more adventurous activities like fishing, tennis, and even equine therapy. And if you have a unique event idea, we want to hear from you! We're always open to new and exciting suggestions from our Event Leaders.

And if you're up for the challenge, there are even opportunities to take on more senior roles in Buddy Up, like becoming a Senior Event Leader or Chapter Leader. The sky's the limit with Buddy Up!

WHAT OUR EVENT LEADERS SAY

I was extremely fortunate to have a career that spanned over two decades with a multinational corporation that had Volunteerism as one of its core values. This provided me with a vast array of varying opportunities to participate in volunteer activities across dozens of countries globally. As my career advanced I was in appointed to leadership positions where my behaviour set the benchmark for both employees and their families. Understanding that performing meaningful volunteerism built teamwork, fostered employee engagement and provided employees with a sense of self-worth, I was driven to do more and more and more.

When I stepped back from corporate life and returned to live in Australia, I knew there would be a piece of me missing. Something that was part of my persona and something that had to be fulfilled.

Giving back to others.

This is where Buddy Up Australia caught my attention. Feeling personally aligned with the BUA values, a daughter who is a paramedic and being third generation military, enriching the lives of veterans and first responders gives me a sense of purpose, achievement and pride.
