Bibbulmun Bound

Bibbulmun Bound

1005km seems a long way, especially if you’re hiking! That’s what Ray Baker, Buddy Up Australia member is undertaking from Albany on ANZAC Day 2020.

If you’ve every considered walking the whole or part of the Bibbulmun Track this is your chance. Ray wants some buddies to join him along the way. The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails, stretching from Albany on the south coast to Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, winding through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australia. We’re starting in Albany on ANZAC Day after the dawn service and gunfire breakfast. However, you can join him for the entire walk or shorter sections.

Who is Ray Baker?

Ray leads treks such as the Kokoda Track, Kilimanjaro and through the Himalaya of Nepal and India with Back Track Adventures. He conducts walking training sessions in bushland around Brisbane and welcomes Buddy Up members to come along for a hike followed by a coffee and a chat. His father served in WWII and suffered from PTSD, which was only understood later in life. Ray is passionate about helping those who have served or are serving our country in our emergency services and ADF as well as their immediate families.

What do you need to do?

Participants must be members of Buddy Up Australia to be part of this trek. You can join up here. It’s up to you how much of the Bibbulmun Track you’d like to hike.

We also need supporters who might be able to drop food off to the trekkers along the way.
